The Governing Body consists of volunteers from parents, staff and the Jewish community who support the school and act as a “critical friend”. Our job is to set the strategic direction of the school, recruit the Headteacher and continually provide feedback and input to support all aspects of school life. We are legally responsible for the school.
Wolfson Hillel is a voluntary aided school which means the Governing Body is responsible for the admissions arrangements. Voluntary aid schools have a foundation (charity) which appoints a significant number of the governors. In our case, the foundation body is the United Synagogue.
Wolfson Hillel is a vibrant and outstanding school which puts its children at the heart of everything it does. We are fortunate in having wonderful children who love to learn and dedicated, caring adults who are committed to help them to do so. We focus on ensuring that our children have access to high quality education and enrichment opportunities that enable them to achieve their full potential and gives them the ability to impact positively on the local and wider community whilst they are at Wolfson Hillel and beyond, when they leave us and become young adults. As a modern orthodox school, we are proud of our engaging and enriching Jewish education that instils a love of the Jewish traditions that are the cornerstone of our Hillel ethos and values.
As a school community, our purpose is simple. My colleagues on the governing body along with the Headteachers and their team actively work steadily towards achieving excellence in everything we do, so that our children can benefit from ever improving provision. This ensures that they consistently achieve significantly above national averages.
Thank you for looking at our website and I look forward to welcoming you as members of our Wolfson Hillel Family.
