Dear Hillel family,

When the school opened 30 years ago and I walked through the doors on the first day in the first cohort of pupils, I never imagined I would be back here now as the Headteacher. 

Hillel has always had a very special place in my heart and I couldn’t feel more honoured to do my job. I, along with the leadership team, try to lead the school to be the best it can be: to provide a warm and nurturing environment; to provide every child with a place to feel safe, grow and make rich and happy memories; and to provide excellent education and ambitious curriculum. I lead with my heart and my head, creating a school that I want my children to attend and that I was lucky enough to attend myself. I try not to focus solely on tests and results – but to put in place what is right for our school, our children and our families.

People have often said  “Don’t become head of an outstanding school – there’s only one way it can go!”. Others said “It’s almost impossible to be outstanding now – you should prepare your staff and parent body for a downgrade.”

But it turns out leading a dedicated team of staff, parents and pupils, striving for the best and following your heart – along with a lot of hard work from everyone – is exactly what it takes. So I am absolutely thrilled to share that in our recent inspection (June 2022), Ofsted judged Wolfson Hillel to be OUTSTANDING!

If it takes a village to raise a child, imagine what it takes to raise a whole school of children. We need the support of our families more than ever to keep Hillel outstanding. We rely on voluntary contributions, our energetic PTA, and parent volunteers so that we can continue to provide your children with excellent resources and outstanding learning opportunities.
