Pupil Premium

What is the Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011. It is a grant paid to schools based on school census figures for pupils registered as eligible for free school meals in reception to Year 6. For looked-after children, the Pupil Premium was calculated using the Children Looked After data returns (SSDA903).

The Pupil Premium is additional to main school funding and it will be used by this school to address any underlying inequalities between children eligible by ensuring that funding reaches the pupils who need it most.

How we use the funding: Objectives

Our main objective in using the Pupil Premium funding is to close gaps in attainment between pupil groups; to support children’s well being and give children opportunities to develop other skills. As a school, we constantly track all groups of pupils to ensure that they make good or better progress and through targeted support and interventions we are working to eliminate barriers to learning and progress. In addition to this, we have a teaching model rooted in supportive training and development for all staff, to improve the quality of all teaching.

School Policy

The Headteacher and Governing Body have agreed to the above objectives and will monitor the use of funds to ensure that it represents value for money.

Accountability

The Headteacher and Leadership Team will regularly and rigorously monitor, evaluate and review the strategies we have put into place for Pupil Premium and report to the governing body on its progress and impact
