The children at our school work extremely hard when they are at school and we value the importance of children having time to be children. We are also aware of the strain that homework can put on family relationships and with both these things in mind we have decided to only give homework where we feel it will add value or is something that needs to be repeatedly practised at home. This includes preparing children for secondary schools with the skills of organisation, meeting deadlines and independent learning, which is why additional homework is introduced in the summer term of Year 5.
Please click the link for a list of expectations for each year group. Should your child need extra reinforcement or stretch they may be given different work to that described for their year group. This will be at the teacher’s discretion and they will discuss this with you if this is the case.
